Call For Entries (CFE) is an annual juried exhibition that encourages artists from the local community to produce newly commissioned work. CFE is open to visual artists of all mediums currently living and working in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo Counties. Applicants may not be closely affiliated with CAF or have participated in a past CFE exhibition. Three to six artists will be selected by a panel of jurors made up of artists and art professionals to exhibit new work in a group exhibition held at CAF in 2012. The panel of distinguished jurors includes: Grace Kook-Anderson, Curator at Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Beach, CA; John Spiak, Director/Chief Curator of the California State University, Fullerton, Grand Central Art Center, Santa Ana, CA; Shane Tolbert, Past CFE Artist, Houston, TX; and Geoff Tuck, Independent Art Writer, Los Angeles, CA. Selected artists will work with a curator through series of studio visits to propose and create new work.
All submissions are individually evaluated based on the artistic and creative strength of the recent (last five years) work. Fee is $20 for CAF members, $35 for non-members, and is waived for new members upon joining. Completed application and fee must be submitted online by Friday, October 14, 2011 at 5 pm. About the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum: The Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum (CAF) is a non-profit, non-collecting alternative art space dedicated to the exhibition, education, and cultivation of the arts of our time. Celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2011, CAF is the premier venue for contemporary art between Los Angeles and San Francisco. CAF is located at the Paseo Nuevo Mall Upper Arts Terrace in downtown Santa Barbara, CA and is open Tuesday - Saturday: 11 AM to 5 PM, Sunday: Noon to 5 PM during the run of the exhibitions.
Jennifer Morgan's Solo Exhibition will feature her signature style of emotionally charged work that draws you in closer for a first and second look. This exhibition will also for the first time, feature limited edition prints of her paintings from the show. They will each be signed and she will hand embellish the works if requested.
Terms & Conditions of the 6° International Art Prize Arte Laguna
ART. 1 – Goal
The Italian Cultural Association MoCA (Modern Contemporary Art), in collaboration with Arte Laguna, organizes the Sixth International Art Prize “Arte Laguna” aimed at promoting and enhancingthe contemporary art. The total value of the awards is 170.000 euros. The Prize obtained a medal by the Italian Head of State, with the patronage of, among others, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Veneto Region, the European Institute of Design. The Prize offers: money prizes; the organization of an important collective exhibition in Venice; exhibitions in Art Galleries; Art Residences and the publication of the official Catalogue. The Prize is divided into five sections: painting, photographic art, sculpture, video and performance, virtual art. Participants can choose the theme of their artworks.
ART. 2 – Techniques
The Prize is open to all artists, without any limit of age, sex, nationality or other qualifications. Each artist can participate with one or more artworks, in one or more sections. Technical details: Painting – works realized with technical and stylistic freedom (oil, tempera, acrylic, ink, vinyl, watercolor, graphite, pencil, collage, etc.) on whatever support (canvas, paper, wood, plastics, iron, etc.). The maximum dimensions allowed per each work are 150 cm per side. Sculpture and installation – any organic or inorganic material. In the works sounds, lights, videos, mechanical or electrical movements can be used. The maximum dimensions allowed per each works are: base 4 meters, depth 4 meters, height 4 meters, weight 150 kg. The artist, if selected as finalist for the collective exhibition, has to provide to the Organization all the necessary material in order to exhibit the artwork and supervise personally the setting up. Photographic Art - color and b/w analog photos, color and b/w digital photos, color and b/w digital elaborations, works created on the computer. The maximum dimensions allowed per each works are 150 cm per side Video Art and animation - film, video and works with all the animation techniques on any digital and analog support. The works has to last as maximum 15 minutes, opening title and closing credits included. For the exhibition the artist has to send original works saved on DVD in high quality and in formats compatible with mastly used reading systems. Performance - any technique, expressive form and with any support materials (video, music, etc.. to be provided and arranged by the artist in the case of being selected as finalist) can be used. Each performance can last a maximum of 10 minutes and can involve no more than five artists. Copyright and SIAE rights must be provided for works that include non original music or images, if necessary. NEW - Virtual Art- i Fope, with the contribution of FOPE: artworks entirely created by computer, 3D graphics, virtual installations, works created by smartphone or tablet applications, videos entirely created by computer, virtual videos, net art. The finalist artworks will be on display at the collective exhibition on tablet or smartphone.

NEW - "Loft Miramarmi" - Art residencein the heart of the marble district of Vicenza for 3 months and for 3 artists + creative laboratory The company Miramarmi, in the heart of the Vicenza marble district, opens its own loft to 3 artists for 3 months (accomodation included). This residence will establish a real creative laboratory for the creation of artistic works and projects. Reserved for artists who participate with 2 works in the same section.
"Glass School Abate Zanetti":Art residence in Venice + creation of a project with master glassmakers + final exhibition. 1 month residence (accommodation included), workshops with master glassmakers of Murano and assistance by Glass School Abate Zanetti and final exhibition. The objective is the creation of the project presented during the application. Reserved for artists who participate with 2 works in sculpture section.
"Art Stays" Art residence in Slovenia + final exhibition ART STAYS, International Festival of Contemporary Art and the main annual event of visual arts in Slovenia, offers a 7-day residence in July/August (accommodation and meals included) and the curators assistance for the development of a project that will be presented in a personal exhibition during the Festival. One of the artworks will be of Art Stays property.

"Carlo Zauli Museum”Art residence in Faenza city of ceramics + final exhibition 1 month residency with assistance and materials. The artist will be full time involved in the museum activities with the aim of making real a personal project. The artwork will remain artist’s property. Reserved for artists who participate with 2 works in sculpture section
"iaab" Art residence in Basilea + open day 5-month residence from August to December 2012, including accommodation and assistance. The artist will be full time involved in IAAB activities with the aim of developing the project. The artwork will remain artist’s property. Reserved for artists who participate with 2 works in the same section.

"Open" Open, International exhibition Sculptures and installations in Venice, will select one artist of the sculpture section who will exhibit in 2012 during the International film Festival of Venice.
"Tina B Tina B, International Festival of Prague, will select one artist of the performance section whose artwork will be presented during the event.
"Romanian Cultural and Humanistic Research Institute in Venice" One artist of videoart section will be chosen for the creation of a personal exhibition + participation fund.

Personal exhibitions include setting up, opening and press releases that will be organized by each gallery. Each gallery is responsible for the setting up and the organization of the exhibition. Each artist is responsible for covering transportation (whole round trip) and insurance costs. The winner artist have to contact the gallery within 1 month from the Award Ceremony and the Vernissage of the main exhibition, penalty: loss of the prize. The artworks will remain of artists' propriety. Each gallery will agree with the artist the rate of the commission on eventual sellings. Arte Laguna is only responsible for publishing the winning artworks and some information on the exhibition in the dedicated section of the website of the Prize.
ART. 5 - Application fee For the partial support of the organization expenses, the application fee is 50 euros for 1 work and 90 euros for 2 works in the same section, for additional works (in the same section) the fee is 45 euros each, to pay as specified in art.6. For under 25 artists the application fee is 45 euros for 1 work and 80 euros for 2 works in the same section, for additional works (in the same section) the fee is 40 euros each. Under25 artists must send the copy of their ID card by e-mail at info@premioartelaguna.it or by fax at +39 041 8627948, otherwise the registration will not be considered valid. Artists who subscribe at least 2 artworks can participate also in the Special Prizes "Artist in Residence" and “Business for art” as written in the art.4. Artists must keep a copy of the payment. Application fees are no-refundable.

ART.7 – Selection Process and the Collective Exhibitions The Jury will select 200 artworks. The selected artists will have to send an email with a folder with a detailed dossier and a maximum of 10 arworks. The Jury will select the 110 finalist artworks that will take part to the Collective Exhibition at the Venetian Arsenale. Further artworks will be selected in the Under 25 applications and will be on display at the Romanian Cultural and Humanistic Research Institute in Venice The name of the winners will be announced during the Award Ceremony. The organization and the setting up of these two exhibitons will be done by Arte Laguna Each artist is responsible for covering transportation (whole round trip) and insurance costs of the artwork.
ART. 8 – Responsibilities The organization, the Cultural Association MoCA and Arte Laguna, by assuring the greatest care and custody of the works, will not be liable for thefts, fire or any damages to artworks or people that could occur during all the phases of the event. Any insurance request will be supported by the Artists. Each Artist must keep informed about the news of the Prize, that will be updated on the website www.artelagunaprize.com. The organization will send all the relevant communications by e-mail. Therefore the artist have to give the organization a valid e-mail address, add to the email list info@premioartelaguna.it and read the email daily.
ART. 9 – Agreement The decisions of the Jury are irrevocable. The winner artists have the right to renounce the prizes but without asking Arte Laguna any kind of compensation. In that case the prize will be re-assigned according to the ranking made by the Jury. Each Artist gives to Arte Laguna the right of replication of the works and texts for the realization of the Catalogue, the archive of entries, the publication of the artworks in the website of the prize and other forms of communication and activities of the organization. Each Artist gives to the Cultural Association MoCA and Arte Laguna the authorization to the treatment of the personal data according to the privacy law (Legislative Decree n° 675/96 and n° 196/2003). The participation to the prize implies the knowledge and the total acceptance of this regulation.
