THE VILLAGE AT FAIRVIEW TO HOST “WINE & ART WALK”
Free event on Thursday, Sept. 16 from 6-9 p.m. will include complimentary wine and food pairings,
guide of sculptures at the shopping center, local artists, art-themed demonstrations and more
FAIRVIEW, Texas – (Sept. 7, 2010) – The Village at Fairview will host a “Wine & Art Walk” on Thursday, Sept. 16 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., which will conclude its monthly “Wine Walk” events for 2010. The event is free to the public, but space is limited. Guests are encouraged to make a reservation to guarantee participation in the event.
Since May, guests at The Village at Fairview have enjoyed sampling a selection of wines from local wine sponsors and complimentary appetizers prepared by center’s restaurants during monthly “Wine Walk” events. In addition to the usual offerings of complimentary wine and food pairings, the art-themed event on Sept. 16 will include a guide of permanent sculptures located throughout The Village at Fairview as well as the opportunity to meet the local artists that created the sculptures. Participating artists include:
· Brad Abrams, a Dallas-based artist whose works are constructed entirely from 100 percent recycled glass. Works at The Village at Fairview include Kisses and Hugs, located adjacent to Coldwater Creek.
· Laura Abrams, a Dallas-based sculptor whose artwork is inspired by infinite forms of nature including the ocean, earth and sky. Works at The Village at Fairview include: Tattered Blossom, located on the north side of JCPenney and Celebration of the Sun, located near Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop.
· Rebecca Low, a Fort Worth-based artist who constructs metal works using found objects. Works at The Village at Fairview include: Gutter Ball, located in front of LensCrafters; Timber II, located outside of Freedom Park; and Windy, located near Papaya.

The “Wine & Art Walk” also will feature art-themed demonstrations including a painting
demonstration by local artist Cate Robbins (www.caterobbins.com), a caricature artist to create complimentary
drawings for guests and music provided by a DJ at “The Grand Commons Stage,” located next to The Purple Cow.

During the event, guests will be invited to sample a variety of wine selections, provided by Stoney’s Bottle Bargains, inside select retail stores including Frenzi, Hello Gorgeous, I.O. Metro, La Mariposa and Parmida Home Concepts. Complimentary appetizers will be provided by many of the center’s eateries, which include Bistro Babusan, Cyclone Anaya’s Mexican Kitchen, Gloria’s, Great American Cookie, Paciugo, Patrizio, The Purple Cow, Uptown Popcorn and Wyland’s Ocean Blue.
To make a reservation for the “Wine & Art Walk” on Sept. 16, individuals may e-mail TheVillageAtFairviewRSVP@sunwestpr.com. The guest’s name, number of people in the group and a phone number should be provided when making a reservation. Participants must be at least 21 years old.
The day of the event, registered guests should check in at the tables set up in the courtyard located on the north side of Macy’s to receive a commemorative wine glass; three drink vouchers for wine tasting; a map with designated wine tasting and food stations; a map of the sculpture locations; and a goody bag with special offers from The Village at Fairview’s stores and restaurants. Walk-up guests will be accepted if space allows. Check-in will end at 8:30 p.m.
Guests that have participated in the “VIP Wine Card” program at past “Wine Walk” events will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a $250 gift card to The Village at Fairview.
Stoney’s Bottle Bargains is the sponsoring wine partner for the Sept. 16 event. Previous “Wine Walk” sponsors include Cape Classics, Frederick Wildman and Sons, Ltd and Winebow Brands International. The Village at Fairview will resume its monthly “Wine Walk” events beginning in spring 2011.
