The Arc of Dallas, a non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities, is accepting artwork by artists with and without disabilities for exhibit in a series of shows opening at a wide range of venues in the Dallas area throughout 2011. Locations will include galleries, art museums, churches and other public buildings.
Entries are accepted year-round, but we would love for you to participate in our October exhibit in the beautiful Rotunda at Chase Tower located in downtown Dallas from October 22-31. In order to be eligible for the October exhibit, you must complete the form online by September 15. There is no entry fee and works in all mixed media are eligible. You may submit up to three pieces.
For each artwork sold, half of the proceeds will go to the artist and the remainder supports The Arc of Dallas’s art program for people with intellectual disabilities. Should your work not sell at the October exhibit, you will be informed of the schedule of shows your artwork can be displayed during the remainder of the one-year consignment period. The Arc of Dallas will pay return shipping at the end of the consignment period if your piece does not sell. A commission for artwork that is 100% donated to The Arc of Dallas -- a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization -- is considered eligible as a tax deductible gift.
Here is the timeline for the October exhibit at the Chase Tower Rotunda:
