Wonderful Weekend of Wine and Art in Marble Falls Sculpture on Main and Texas Fall Fest October 8-10, 2010

Two great events are scheduled for the second weekend in October and both are centered in and around Main Street Marble Falls.

Sculpture on Main, an event sponsored by the Uptown Marble Arts Alliance and spearheaded by local sculpture Dan Pogue and his wife Marti, will be included in the Saturday night activities scheduled for the Texas Fall Fest. Sculpture on Main brings over a dozen juried pieces of sculpture to be permanently displayed in and around Main Street for a year. Marble Falls is one of the few cities in Texas with such a program and the pieces displayed have been delighting locals and visitors alike for the past four years.

Texas Fall Fest and Wine Auction will bring area wineries and celebrity chefs to town for a three-day celebration of legendary Texas flavors. Events will include a Friday night “Sunset on the Lake” wine and food tasting at the Lakeside Pavilion in Marble Falls. There will be plenty of good food and wine, music and silent auction items on display. A special comedy showcase at the Uptown Marble Theater will end the evening on a high note with a 9pm curtain.

Saturday is when the two events join forces for a wonderful evening of food, wine, art and music. The “Trail o’ Food” begins at 5:30pm with a progressive wine and food stroll down Main Street. In addition to the delicious wines and scrumptious appetizers being offered, guests will be among the first to see the newly installed sculpture pieces on display along Main Street. Those wishing to enjoy the offerings of Cowboy Chef Grady Spears will meet in the tent at Old Oak Square for dinner and live auction of unique wine and travel packages. Others who wish to participate in a reception with the artists will convene in the Uptown Marble Theater for the awards presentation.

The evening will end with a high-energy concert by legendary Texas musician Ray Wylie Hubbard in the Uptown Marble Theater. The show starts at 9:00pm.

The “Farm to Market & Wine Fair” will keep the fun going on Sunday. Texas wines as well as booths laden with “Tastes of Texas” will be under the tent at Old Oak Square, Main Street Marble Falls. This will be another great opportunity to view the newly installed sculpture pieces which extend down Main Street.

This will be a special weekend to enjoy the wonderful food, wine, art and music that truly puts Marble Falls in the middle of everything!
