David A. Dreyer: Transitional Planes Valley House Gallery Dallas
We are pleased to announce our next exhibition
David A. Dreyer: Transitional Planes
Saturday, February 12, 6:00-8:30 pm
David A. Dreyer was born in Dallas in 1958, and earned his BFA and MFA at Southern Methodist University. He was a recipient of the Moss/Chumley Award from the Meadows Museum and has had solo exhibitions at The McKinney Avenue Contemporary in Dallas and The Grace Museum in Abilene. Dreyer is currently Adjunct Instructor, Technical Supervisor and Safety Coordinator for the Division of Art at SMU. This is his third solo exhibition at Valley House Gallery.
Dreyer's expression of the essence of line, gesture and geometry as observed in nature and his articulation of the transitions and dynamics of these elements shape this exhibition of abstract paintings and sculpture.
His paintings and sculpture are wholly interconnected; one influences the other. Dimensions of space are in flux. Planes and plains morph. His palette is cohesively rooted in nature. Throughout, his craftsmanship is refined and subtle. For Dreyer, gesture is not only the essence of a statement, but also a means to finding that statement.
